How much of a tile can lack adhesion?

When reviewing condition assessment reports from homes for sale, you will usually find markings of loose or hollow tiles. It is important to note that even if the tiles were installed correctly, it is not uncommon for there to be small areas of tile that are not properly bonded.

20% is usually the accepted amount of a tile's surface area that may lack proper adhesion. This means that if a tile measures 30 x 60 centimeters, an area of approximately 6 x 12 cm must be hollow. 20% is approximately the maximum for the tile to function – assuming the tile itself feels solid.

However, loose or hollow tiles make an annoying sound – which you can easily get rid of with ADIN.
